What do we consider our treasure?
The powerhouse that converts a vehicle's harmful exhaust gases into less toxic emissions, the catalytic converter contains precious metals — namely platinum, palladium, and rhodium — making it a valuable item for recycling.
We buy different kinds and sizes of catalytic converters, be it ceramic (gasoline and diesel) or metal-foil ones, from a wide range of manufacturers, models, and conditions. We can also help customers identify the type of converter they have if they're unsure.
There are two ways in which we buy these. The first is a per-unit purchase: we buy the item in the condition it was removed from the vehicle. This is the simplest way for customers to sell their converters, since no processing is required on their end; clients just hand over the items, and we handle everything else. This option is ideal for those who prefer a fast, simple transaction. We assess each unit by its part number, manufacturer, and model, then refer to our extensive database to check its possible valuable content, before referring to the latest precious metals market price to come up with the best offer for our clients.
For bigger quantities or mixed kinds of converters, we can also buy them through an analysis of their precious metal content. Instead of buying per unit, the batch is processed and sampled in our own laboratory using advanced equipment to measure that content, allowing us to provide a more accurate, data-based quotation. Results typically come out within a few business days; however, cases requiring higher precision may take up to about four weeks.
If needed, we can use both modes of purchase (per unit and by analysis) within the same transaction, and we buy any quantity, from a single unit to a large batch.
It's also worth noting that converters from larger trucks and commercial vehicles are massive, meaning more precious metal content and, thus, a significantly higher recycling value. Due to their size, proper professional handling is required. We make sure that every unit is handled safely, efficiently, and fairly, supported by dedicated tools, proper logistics, and accurate inspection methods.
Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF)
A Diesel Particulate Filter, or DPF (also called a Diesel Particulate Diffuser, or DPD, on some Isuzu vehicles), is the exhaust treatment system in diesel-powered vehicles that traps and burns off particulate matter and soot from the engine. Even used and clogged units still contain precious metals in their catalytic coating. We buy these filters for recycling once they've been removed for replacement. If customers aren't sure whether their diesel-run car or truck has a catalyst or a DPF/DPD, we can help identify it for them.
Oxygen, or O2, sensors in vehicles also contain trace amounts of precious metals that can be recovered through recycling. We purchase used sensors ranging from small quantities to bulk shipments. However, due to the nature of these sensors, they can't be analyzed using the same method as catalytic converters; therefore, we can only accept direct purchases.
Aside from catalytic converters, we also specialize in buying and supplying batteries for automotive applications, which includes hybrid (HV), electric (EV), and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles.
With a priority on maximizing potential, we first assess batteries for their remaining life and reuse potential. We test batteries and modules to see if they can be reused in hybrid and electronic vehicles or to power stationary energy storage applications, including solar and other renewable energy systems. You can be assured that both nickel-metal hydride and lithium-ion packs, from models like the Prius and other hybrids, are handled safely.
As mentioned, aside from buying, we also supply original Japanese batteries that have undergone our testing, met our high standards, and are verified safe for second-life use. We currently hold a large stock of these batteries, stored under controlled conditions. We can also provide battery components to companies specializing in battery repair, refurbishment, and remanufacturing.
Usable parts salvaged from batteries — such as replacement modules, wiring, connectors, busbars, cooling fans, and battery ECU components — are also sold, as these are ideal for repair shops and technicians doing rebuild work.
Electronic Scrap and Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)
As the world moves forward with digitization at the forefront of progress, we expect to see even more electronic scrap in the future. Disposal of these e-waste, including printed circuit boards (PCB), is complex due to their composition and the toxic materials they contain. We provide purchasing, collection, and processing services compliant with environmental standards, for companies handling electronic waste. Just like with reusable battery components, we can also supply customers with salvaged parts, like memory modules (RAM) and hard disk drives (HDD), to reduce costs and improve resource efficiency.
